The world’s number one selling rum, Bacardi, has recently been awarded top honours at a prestigious international spirits competition.
Announced at an award ceremony held by The Spirits Business liquor magazine, Bacardi took home the highly-coveted ‘Rum Masters of the Year’ award, widely considered the most acclaimed award within the rum category.
"This award is the result of nearly 150 years of tradition, commitment and dedication to producing an outstanding range of rums,” said Bacardi senior brand manager, Fernando Navarro.
“We are really proud of the Bacardi brand in Australia, an exceptional spirit with great mixability and a flavour that creates the best drinks and cocktails.”
This recent win joins Bacardi’s haul of over 300 awards internationally, maintaining its position as the world’s most awarded rum.
Bacardi has also been awarded globally in competitions such as the World Spirits Awards, The Monde Selection and The International Wine and Spirit Awards.
Founded in Cuba in 1862, Bacardi has become synonymous with light-bodied and easy-drinking rums. Today, it is produced in multiple locations including Puerto Rico and Mexico.
