Diageo Australia has announced that it will make available a counter display unit for 200ml bottles of Baileys, following the success of the displays over the Christmas trading period.

In support of the new counter displays, Diageo has put together a special case deal designed to deliver over 20 percent gross profit for the SKU, which has an RRP of $9.99.

According to Diageo’s business development team, retailers who position the 200ml units on the counter have the potential to sell over a case of 12 bottles per week compared to one to three bottles per week in other locations in the store that are subject to lower foot traffic and visibility.

“The Baileys counter display worked so well over Christmas as an impulse purchase we decided to keep it all year round,” said Sam Cufone, of Parafield Airport Liquor Store, South Australia.

“It continues to drive incremental sales for us and people love the little size. The counter is where you would like to place Baileys 200ml as people who weren’t planning to purchase see it on the way out and grab a couple which increases shoppers basket size.”

The refreshed visibility suites and new counter display units will be available from tomorrow (February 1).
