Beer & Brewer is giving you the chance to win a double pass to the Ballarat Beer Festival next Saturday, January 20.
Showcasing more than 150 beers from 34 breweries, the festival is the perfect place to enjoy a craft brew while listening to live music.
“Moving the festival to Lake Wendouree means festival-goers will find plenty of shade to escape the summer’s heat. We’re encouraging everyone to bring picnic blankets so they can sit back, stay cool and sample many of Australia’s top craft beers,” said festival director Richard Dexter.
Some of the breweries involved include; Colonial Brewing Co., KAIJU! Beer, Pirate Life, Grand Ridge, Prancing Pony, Dainton, Young Henrys, Temple and Bentspoke.
Festival-goers can sharpen their beer knowledge with a range of educational sessions led by the Beer Diva and Professor Pilsner. They can then test that knowledge in beer trivia, or try their hand at musical bingo, or even the popular brewer’s sack race.
In recognition of the town’s strong brewing traditions, the festival holds a homebrew competition, with the winner able to commercially brew their winning recipe and see it on-tap at Ballarat’s craft beer pub, The Mallow.
This year, rock’n’rollers, The VANNS, are headlining along with bands including, Ballarat’s own Butterfunked, Mast Gully Fellers, Hana and Jessie-Lee April, Centre and the South, Michael Meeking & The Lost Souls and The Blues Brothers.
Food trucks will be serving up some delicious grub, and there will be a range of wines and cocktails available for non-beer drinkers.
The Ballarat Beer Festival will run from 11am to 9pm, and tickets range from $28 to $190.
To win a double pass to the festival, just go to our Facebook page and tell us which band or artist dead or alive, would you most like to share a beer with and why.
