After five years at Hugos Bar Pizza, Kings Cross, the reigning Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA) Bar Manager of the Year, Julian Damjano, is moving on.

From March, Damjano will be taking on a full-time management role at hot new industry favourite, Goldfish in Kings Cross.

Ben Walsh and Daniel Rice, directors of Sazerac Pty Ltd, (the company responsible for the refurbishment, relaunch and operation of Goldfish), said Damjano will be “an integral part of the management team”.

“With the Goldfish bar team being headed up by Ben Walsh, Simon Keene and Julian Damjano, this truly is an all star team,” they said.

After overseeing the careers of some outstanding bartending talent including Jim Beam brand ambassador Jared Plummer and 42 Below Cocktail World Cup finalist Luke Redington, Damajno’s movement will see current bar supervisor Redington promoted to bar manager.

As such, Hugos Bar Pizza now has a bartender position available, with potential for the right candidate to become a bar supervisor. Applications and expressions of interest should be emailed to julian@hugos.com.au before Feb 28.
