Appleton Estate is offering bartenders the chance to design its Limited Edition Appleton Estate Tiki Rum God Mug with the winner jetting off to Jamaica.

Bartenders are being asked to construct a back-story for their ‘Appleton Rum God’, with the top three finalists then working with Tiki designers to bring their design to life.

Voting will be conducted by the public with the winner not only having their design on the mug, but also a trip to Jamaica to meet master blender Joy Spence and a tour of the Appleton Estate Distillery.

“With the growing following and support that Tiki now has across the Australian bar scene, setting a challenge to bartenders to design the Summer 2011 Appleton Estate Mug makes total sense,” said Appleton Estate brand manager Darren West.

“There are so many cocktail competitions around at the moment so we wanted to offer the bartender community something a little fun and different.”

Runners up will receive an Appleton Estate Gift Pack valued at $200, which includes: a collection of Tiki Mugs from 2008 to 2010, an Appleton Estate Lime Squeezer and a copy of their own Tiki Mug design as worked on with their designer.

The competition is only available for Australian bartenders with all submissions to be in before Sunday March 13 2011.

Finalists will be announced March 21 with finalist designs to be uploaded to the Appleton Estate Rum – Australia Facebook page on April 4 and public voting will close on Apri 17l.

Winner will be announced on 20 April 2011. Vsit website for more details and terms and conditions.
