Two of Beam Global Australia’s top premium spirits, Russian Standard Vodka and Maker’s Mark, have added their weight to the 2010 Taste of Tennis Australia, which celebrated the start of this years Australian Open tennis tournament.

The event brought together fifteen of Australia’s top chefs and some of the world’s best tennis players to showcase their culinary skills at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne.

In addition to showcasing food and signature cocktails, the three-hour party featured a variety of interactive stations, full open bar, music and a silent auction for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Top ranking tennis stars including Andy Roddick, Fernando Verdasco and Stan Wawrinka participated in a live cocktail masterclass on centre stage with multi award winning bartender Jason Crawley.

Guests had the opportunity to witness Crawley coach the tennis professionals on the art of making Russian Standard Vodka and Maker’s Mark cocktails in a fun and educational session.

“Profiling cocktail culture alongside some of the country’s best chefs was great for the profile of our industry and our profession,” said Crawley.

The Mixxit team were also on show at the main bar, serving guests’ tennis inspired cocktails including Russian Standard Vodka’s Russian ‘Love’ and Maker’s Mark’s Kentucky ‘Deuce’.
