Retailers, publicans and all other beer industry participants are invited to attend the Beer & Brewer Awards and Conference, to be held on Thursday October 24.

The Beer & Brewer Conference is a trade-only event relevant to both the on and off-premise sectors, with conference sessions to include:

  • an Australian beer market summary featuring ALH's Ian Kingham, looking at the value and share of beer in the market, and what beer categories and styles are growing or declining;
  • a tutored sensory evaluation class taken by CUB's Tina Panoutsos;
  • advice on how to build a beer list and staff training, discussing the importance of cold freight, distribution and marketing and more;
  • lessons on beer and food matching from Lion's Dr Chuck Hahn; and
  • advice on how to manage kegs, serving draught beer and tap contracts.

The conference will be held between 9am and 4pm at The Sebel Hotel, 28 Albion St, Surry Hills.

The Beer & Brewer Awards will be held in the evening at the same venue, recognising excellence and popularity for the best beer venues, brewers, beertenders, beers and ciders in Australia and New Zealand.
