The Australian Liquor Stores Association (ALSA) is calling for final bookings for its annual conference next month, to be held at the Novotel Rockford Palm Cove Resort, Queensland.

Highlights to this year’s event include veteran journalist George Negus, who is set to host the ALSA Hypothetical that will create a forum of supplier heads discussing the future of the liquor industry and the challenges at hand.

Tom Potter from Eagle Boys Pizza will also address delegates with a motivational talk about how he built his business from one store in regional NSW to 145 nationwide, now worth more than $100 million.

Also among the line-up of speakers is experienced public health professional, Professor Ross Kalucy, who will discuss the real issues in the alcohol and health debate. It will offer delegates the chance to have their own queries answered by an expert.

Running over five days, the conference includes a range of informative sessions to cover retail trends, developments and solutions to challenges in the current climate, while also providing invaluable opportunities to get to know supplier partners and industry peers.

Between the educational sessions, a range of activities will also be on offer, including golf, Daintree Rainforest tours and a cruise to Green Island.

The Conference is on from July 20 to 26.
