Two Queensland liquor stores were targeted by robbers on Saturday night with the occupant of one store fighting off the would-be robber with a hammer.

A man entered a store on Park Rd, Milton, about 6:45pm and allegedly threatened the store’s male manager with a knife.
Working inside the store was a 26-year-old store maintenance worker who retaliated by throwing a hammer at the offender, hitting him in the chest.

The offender supposedly then threw wine bottles at the pair before escaping into a car driven by a second person.
Police are investigating whether the attackers then went onto Paddington and robbed a store, in Latrobe Terrace.

Armed with a knife and beer stubbie, the attacker demanded money before swinging the stubbie at a store employee and grabbing the entire cash register and leaving.

The main offender in both incidents was described as being Caucasian, about 170cm tall in his mid-20s with brown hair and a slim build.
