Andy Bower, formerly of Brown-Forman, has been appointed global sales manager of Casella Wines.

Bower left his role as sales director of Brown-Forman earlier this year to take a four-month sabbatical, during which time he completed his diploma at the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He replaces Casella's export sales manager, Angus Macpherson, who recently left to join Treasury Wines.

But in the newly created role of global sales manager, Bower takes on the added responsibilities of the Asia Pacific and USA export markets.

"During my conversations with the team at Casella, what impressed me was the very positive culture, the strong marketing support and investment that has seen [yellowtail] become the phenomenon iconic global brand it is, and the very strong commitment and investment in future growth and diversity," he said.

"I am delighted and very excited to be joining such a strong team at Casella Wines at such an exciting time of growth and development, and very much looking forward to broadening my experience and commercial perspective at a global level."
