Craft beer giant BrewDog has expanded its Sunshine State offering by opening a new tap bar in Fortitude Valley.

The Scottish-born brand’s three-level venue in the home of Brisbane’s nightlife district has 60 taps with a menu focused on burgers, chicken wings and vegan items.

BrewDog Head of Operations, Calvin McDonald, said the 400-capacity location will employ 35 new staff with the company’s business model sharing 50% of profits with its crew.

“We’re setting the bar higher for hospitality workers everywhere and it’s an initiative we can’t wait for the new Fortitude Valley crew to benefit from,” he said.

The Tranberg House property at 235 Brunswick Street retains much of its heritage charm with the bar also featuring pinball machines and shuffleboards.

BrewDog is continuing its expansion in Australia with the Coburg property opening later this month at an old Melbourne jail site while Sydney’s South Eveleigh setting will be opening in December.

The carbon negative brewer’s original tap room in Murrarie, east of Brisbane, opened in 2019.
