A new boutique brewery, Pinchgut Brewing Company, has been launched in Sydney, which will be producing what the company describes as 'a truly hand-crafted boutique product'.

Pinchgut Brewing Company’s head brewer Gerard Meares has worked for a number of different microbreweries over the past seven years, including Paddy’s, the Macquarie Hotel and The Flying Horse, as well as spending some time overseas working at Pilsner Urquell in the Czech Republic.

Pinchgut Brewing Company is currently producing two lagers – a traditional Czech Pilsner (Pilzner) and a Black Pilzner (Blk Plz), with both beers made using an all-malt recipe, with ingredients sourced both locally and from Europe.

“Pinchgut Pilzner is a classic pilsner style lager – highly hopped, crisp and golden – true to the style first brewed in1842 in Plzen, Czech Republic. It is a moreish lager, well-suited to spicy foods or salty bar snacks,” the company said.

“The Blk Plz is a more complex offering. Great to drink on its own but also a perfect accompaniment to hearty meat dishes, a great steak, rich chocolately desserts and even cheese platters.”

Pinchgut Brewing Company is currently supplying draught beer to a number of Sydney venues including Harts Pub in the Rocks and the Riverview Hotel in Balmain.
