The Normanby Hotel has taken out the title of best pub in the Best of Brisbane series, an online voting competition on

The Brisbane City Council initiative registered more than 6500 votes, with The Normanby gaining 24 per cent of votes.

The Breakfast Creek Hotel was crowned best steak, with the venue winning a meaty 29 per cent of votes.

The Normanby Hotel manager, Mark Lassman, said it was a great honour that the people and a select panel of judges had chosen the venue as the best pub in Brisbane.

"I think we’ve had a tough time of late, but this latest poll shows the people of Brisbane like what we have to offer, are coming back and support the venue,” he said.

"It’s a big vote in confidence in the venue and in the staff who work hard to make The Normanby an experience, not just a pub.”

The poll ran from August to September with votes tallied on numerous areas including best park, best natural icon and greatest sports star.
