Swift + Moore Beverages has announced it has signed Australian rum maker Brix to its distribution portfolio, as of this week.

Brix has been steadily enhancing its reputation since opening its distillery in Bourke Street, Sydney in 2018. The distillery’s Brix White won the World’s Best Unaged Pot Still Rum at the World Rum awards. In addition the team are in the process of barrel ageing a variety of style in different barrels, including Australian wine barrels, and hope to have its first barrel release sometime in 2021.

Speaking about the deal, Cameron Crowley, Managing Director at Swift + Moore, said: “We are delighted to welcome the range of Brix Rums to the Swift + Moore community.  While Whiskey and Gins have seen an explosion in craft offers Brix clearly leads the field in the creation of handmade, exceptional Rum.

“The passion of the Brix team and the dedication they have shown at every step means that the quality is there to be savoured in every glass. We look forward to bringing the results of these efforts to our customers around the country and reigniting Australia’s long history with Rum.”

Brix CEO and Co-Founder Damien Barrow added: “The Brix Team are very excited to be working with the Swift + Moore Team. It is our mission, as local producers, to challenge the misconception of rum in Australia and to help grow the local craft distilling industry.

“Brix has been very impressed with the Swift & Moore passion for building brands and we see this partnership as a natural fit. We are excited to further build our market presence and continue on our journey to change the face of rum in Australia.”

All the Brix range will be distributed by Swift + Moore throughout Australia via broad range wholesalers.
