After more than a century of winemaking, Brown Brothers has released its 18 Eighty Nine range, featuring seven new wines.

Created to pay tribute to the year the first bottle of Brown Brothers wine was shared around the family table, the label of the 18 Eighty Nine range takes its inspiration from the humble chair set at this table – as an integral feature of family time, sharing stories, eating good food and enjoying beautiful wines.

“Our grandmother Patricia, who’s no longer with us today, was an incredible woman, and we’ve actually named our flagship range of wines after her,” said fourth-generation family member and PR manager, Caroline Brown, at the launch in Sydney on Wednesday.

“The whole idea came from sitting around the family dinner table, the family kitchen table. We love to tell stories, we love to share – so tonight is about that."

The range, which will replace the current dry range of Brown Brothers tables wines, includes a 2013 Pinot Grigio, 2012 Chardonnay, 2013 Sauvignon Blanc sourced from cool climate Tasmania fruit, complemented by a Shiraz, Tempranillo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
