Internationally-acclaimed bourbon Buffalo Trace has this week (Feb 1-5) caused a stampede across Australian shores, with the arrival of international sales director, Guy May, to host exclusive tastings and educationals.
Sessions for bartenders and members of the trade in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane were packed out, with a similar result expected at the final session to be held at 2:30pm today (Feb 5) at the Botanica Hotel in Perth.
May said that he was “thrilled” at the response so far to Buffalo Trace. “For a product that was, until recently, only available in the United States and the United Kingdom, I have been very impressed by the level of recognition so far. It’s wonderful to see.”
The bourbon, which is owned by The Sazerac Company Inc, is distilled and aged at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Franklin County, Kentucky.
The company last year signed an exclusive agreement with Southtrade International to distribute the bourbon in Australia.
Buffalo Trace has won more than 20 medals in international spirit competitions including a gold medal at the 2008 Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition.
