Young up-and-comer David Reynolds has been announced as the final-team member within the Walkinshaw Racing stable in this year’s V8 Supercar circuit, sponsored by Bundaberg Rum.

After supporting the V8 Supercar series for the past two years, 2009 marks the first year that Bundaberg Rum will be a major backer of a V8 Supercar team.

“I am extremely excited to be driving for the Bundaberg Red Racing Team,” Reynolds said. “It’s a real dream come true to be able to compete in this year’s V8 Supercar Championship.”

Originally from Albury, Reynolds has been motor racing since he was six years old, when he began racing motor karts.

He has achieved numerous motor-racing accolades over the years, including becoming the youngest champion of the Carrera Cup in 2007.

The first event on the V8 Supercar calendar will be the Clipsal 500, Adelaide on March 19.
