The Bundaberg Distilling Company, manufacturer of Bundaberg Rum, has been honoured as an inductee into the second annual Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame.

Announced at an awards dinner in Brisbane last night, the Diageo rum brand was recognised for developing an iconic national and international product and contributing significantly to Queensland’s rural industry.

Chairman of the Bundaberg Distilling Company, John Green, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“We are honoured and delighted that the Bundaberg Distilling Company has been recognised for the contribution it has made to Queensland’s rural industry,” he said.

“Today it stands strong on its original site in Bundaberg, producing one of Australia’s oldest and most favourite spirits.

"The people who work for Bundaberg Rum are incredibly passionate about the brand, and are proud of the contribution we make to the local community of Bundaberg as well as to the Queensland and national economy.”

The Bundaberg Distillery BondStore Visitor’s Centre attracts 85,000 visitors each year.
