The Hunter Valley is still open for business as usual in spite of the heavy storms and flooding that hit the region recently.

Two weeks ago very heavy rain and gale-force winds hit many parts of New South Wales, with some areas receiving over 100mm of rain in a single hour.

Many homes and businesses lost power as a result of the extreme weather, but the Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association has said that no vineyards had been damaged and that it is business as usual.

In a statement the association said: "The recent weather has provided all of the Hunter with many challenges however, apart from some temporary disruptions of power, it has provided the vineyards of the Hunter Valley with valuable rainfall, setting us up for a great Spring.

"No vineyards have been damaged and it is business as usual for everyone in Hunter Valley Wine Country."
