Calabria Family Wine Group’s distribution arm, Vintners &  Co. Merchants, has introduced Doña Paula wines to its international portfolio.

Doña Paula is located in the Mendoza wine region of Argentina, where grapes are grown at high-altitude, providing increased sun exposure. The producer sources grapes entirely from its own vineyards, and is particularly well-known for its Malbec.

Andrew Calabria, Sales and Marketing Director (and third-generation of Calabria family member) believes that the diversity of options in the Doña Paula range makes the winery well-suited to the Australian market.

“Doña Paula offers an incredible mix of value for money and premium Argentinian wines that we know Australian wine lovers will enjoy.

“We have seen the incredible excitement and growth around Malbec in the market, so feel confident that Doña Paula will be able to offer a diverse and authentic selection of Argentina’s premier red grape variety here in Australia,” Calabria continues.

Doña Paula also produces wines from the Torrontés, Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir grape varieties.

The producer is one of 10 Argentinian wineries to be accredited by the Bodegas de Argentina Sustainability Protocol as a certified sustainable producer.

The Argentinian wine brand joins Vintners & Co. Merchants’ existing portfolio of international wines, which includes: Deutz Champaign, Dow’s Port, Librandi, and Canti Prosecco.

For the moment, import and distribution will focus largely on the brand’s premium Malbec wines, featuring the vineyard’s ‘High Altitude, ‘Paula’, ‘Seleccion de Bodega’ and ‘Alluvia Parcel’ Malbecs. A ‘High Altitude Pinot Noir’ will also be imported.
