After last year’s announcement that Gruppo Campari had acquired Fratelli Averna S.p.A. (Averna Group) globally, Campari Australia is set to integrate the sales, marketing and distribution of Braulio and Cynar over the coming months.

The premium Italian bitters Braulio and Cynar are proving increasingly popular with trade and consumers as the global trend for bitters and amaro continues to expand.

Managing director of Campari Asia Pacific, Mr Franco Peroni, says that they are excited to be able to offer the iconic Italian brands in their portfolio.

“Both Braulio and Cynar are well aligned with Campari’s on-going commitment to deliver the very best premium brands and service to our customers and consumers,” he says. “We look forward to working with our trade customers to build the profile of these brands in the Australian market.”

Braulio is a popular digestif that is based on a family recipe, passed through the generations for 140 years. It contains a blend of herbs, roots and berries sourced from the Italian Alps, and is matured in oak barrels for up to two years to fully integrate the flavours and add complexity. Braulio is traditionally served either neat or on the rocks.

Cynar, an artichoke liquor, was created by Angelo Dalle Molle, a Venetian entrepreneur and philanthropist, and was originally launched in Italy more than 60 years ago. Made from a blend of artichokes and 13 additional herbs and plants, it is traditionally served either neat or in cocktails such as the Cynar Spritz and Cynar Manhattan.
