Carlton Draught is taking the humble meat wheel up a very big notch, with the launch of its Carlton Draught Massive Meat Wheel promotion.

The competition gives a whole new meaning to the Aussie tradition of spinning the wheel down the pub to win a meat tray, and will see Carlton Draught round up 16 finalists who will be flown to London to go for a spin on the world’s tallest cantilevered wheel, the London Eye, competing to win $100,000 and a limited edition super-premium Wagyu beef meat tray.

Carlton Draught group marketing manager Vincent Ruiu said the promotion combined two of Australian’s favourite things – beer and a quality steak.

“Carlton Draught and pub meat trays are both classic Aussie traditions,” said Ruiu. “The only way we could make this better was to combine Australia’s favourite draught beer with Australia’s finest meat trays.”

Consumers are able to enter the promotion by purchasing Carlton Draught and registering a unique code found on specially-marked packs.

The meat trays have been specially commissioned by Carlton Draught from one of Australia’s leading Wagyu producers Jac Wagyu.

The herd destined for the meat tray will be specially fed on the same hops and barley used to craft Carlton Draught, giving the meat a unique flavour profile.

The meat will be available from early April, and Carlton Draught will be hosting tasting events across Australia to give consumers a chance to experience the specially-reared meat.
