Casella has announced that Arvo 51 will stay on as its permanent beer following the completion of a marketing campaign that gave consumers the chance to vote for their favourite of two brews.

"Showing that the national palate prefers a lager with a crisp, refreshing taste and subtle hoppy characters, Arvo 51 has been voted the nation's favourite, ahead of close runner up, Arvo 34, with its spicy, hop-driven flavour," Casella said.

Managing director John Casella said 9000 Australians participated in choosing the country's first crowd-sourced beer.

"The consumers spoke, we brewed and together we created the perfect lager for Australians. This is one beer we can all be proud to call our own."

Arvo 51 will be available nationally from November 1 from all leading liquor retail outlets at an RRP of $18.99 (six-pack) and $49.99 (case).
