Every week The Shout’s sister title Bars and Clubs publishes a new cocktail, and you can celebrate Saturday’s World Cocktail Day by making one of the title’s most popular cocktails.

When the B&C team speak to a bartender or bar operator or even people from spirits brands they always ask for a cocktail recipe, and this now means there is an epic cocktail menu on the Bars and Clubs website.

And what better day to take a tour of this menu than World Cocktail Day?

The term cocktail was first coined in 1806 by The Balance and Columbian Repository, defining it as “a stimulating liquor with a wide variety of sweets, waters, and bitters”.

The current dictionary definition of cocktail is “any alcoholic drink made by mixing a spirit or spirits with other ingredients such as a liqueur, fruit juice, etc.”

Grab your shakers, favourite spirits, mixes and garnish and put together something spectacular, and get some inspiration from the Most Popular Cocktails on the Bars and Clubs Cocktail Menu.
