The general public will be invited to pass through the cellar doors of the Macquarie Group Sydney Royal Wine Show on Saturday, February 13, to take part in an extensive tasting event showcasing over 2300 wines, including the trophy and medal-winning wines from one of Australia’s most prestigious wine shows.

Held at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park and hosted by Peter Bourne, one of the country’s leading wine personalities, the tasting will give guests the opportunity gain insight into the judging system used at the show, tips on how to taste wine like a judge and the chance to taste upcoming varietals.

They will also be able to sample medal-winning gourmet products from the Fine Food Show and Cheese and Dairy Produce Shows.

Leading glassware company, Riedel, will also be running an exclusive tutorial costing $79.95 per person, offering information on Riedel products, proper wine glass usage and tips on how to taste wine.

All guests attending the Riedel tutorial will receive a set of four Riedel Vinum glasses valued at $189, while all guests attending the tasting will receive a Riedel wine glass to take home, along with the Macquarie Group Sydney Royal Wine Show results catalogue.

Tickets to the Macquarie Group Sydney Royal Wine Show Cellar Tasting cost $65 per person and can be purchased through the event’s website.
