Online wine merchant Cellarmasters has issued a voluntary recall for Dorrien Wines’ XII Apostles 2007 Mildara Victoria Merlot.

The product is being recalled after a defect was identified in the labelling. The defect refers to an undeclared allergen — sulphur dioxide — used to manufacture the wine.

Resellers stocking the wine should contact Cellarmasters for a full refund.

Voluntary safety-related recalls are the responsibility of the supplier in Australia.

However, the Ministry for Competition Policy and Consumer Affairs can recall a hazardous product if the supplier has not taken satisfactory action to prevent it from causing injury.
