Australian distribution company Red Island have announced the arrival of Chase Vodka, a single estate potato vodka distilled in Herefordshire in the UK.
The award-winning vodka distillery was founded in 2008 by William Chase, the entrepreneur behind Tyrrell’s Crisps, and is the only producer of super premium single estate English potato vodka.
The company also produces Elegant Gin, with the distillery itself housed in a converted hop barn set among 400 acres of potato fields, apple orchards and cattle farmland.
The spirits are distilled three times through ‘fat Betty’, the distillery’s copper batch pot, and are twice cycled through Chase’s 70ft copper rectification column – the tallest in the world – before each bottle is filled and hand-sealed on-site.
The use of the copper system is central to Chase’s spirits, reacting with sulphates in the alcohol to create a smooth spirit.
Chase Vodka and Elegant Gin will be available through Dan Murphy’s, with the rest of the range available on-premise and at off-premise independents.
