Chilli Marketing, the global brand owner of Rekorderlig Cider, has announced the appointment of Mark Cowie as regional director.

Cowie was formerly general manager for retail sales at News Australia. Prior to that he worked at EMAP Australia and for the BBC in London, UK, overseeing trade marketing and circulation for magazines.

“Mark has joined the company with the primary objective of developing Rekorderlig Cider in the Asia-Pacific region," said Chilli Marketing managing director Kieron Barton.

"We have been very proud of the success Rekorderlig Cider has enjoyed in Australia and New Zealand and we are excited to grow the brand not only in these two countries but across the Asia-Pacific region as a whole. Our cider connects with consumers across the world and having Mark on board will ensure that we continue to grow our consumers across the southern hemisphere."

Cowie said he is thrilled to be joining such a "dynamic and exciting" business.

"I have worked in a 24 hour media world that is forever changing and evolving, and that experience will help me navigate this emerging and exciting new cider category here in Asia-Pacific," he said.

Cowie started his role at Chilli Marketing in October and will be meeting with key stakeholders over the next coming months.
