The Yarra Valley’s Coldstream Brewery is filling a niche for craft cider with its Coldstream Apple Cider.

Crafted with locally-sourced apples, the Coldstream Cider draws on the traditional brewing technique of the rack and cloth press method followed by cool fermentation and filtration.

The cider is brewed by cider-maker Phil Kelly, who comes from a family of brewers.

Kelly established the Coldstream Brewery along with four friends in 2008, which now contains a micro-brewery, bar and restaurant.

Available in both draught at on-premise venues and in bottles at off-premise outlets, Coldstream Cider comes in at five percent ABV and is said to have a medium-dry palate with balanced acidity and crisp, clean apple characteristics.

It has an RRP of $70 per case or $18.99 per six pack.
