Clubs Queensland has announced the unopposed election of Don Seccombe to the position of president. He will take over from Paul O’Brien following the AGM on April 11.

Seccombe is a former mayor of Redlands Shire and current president of the Redlands Sporting Club. Under his guidance the club underwent a multi-million dollar expansion financed directly from cash flow and remains debt free.

Clubs Queensland expressed its members’ gratitude to the outgoing president O’Brien, who will retire this year.

“Mr O’Brien joined the board in 1994 and took over as president in 1996. Mr O’Brien has served the board with distinction and we wish him and his wife all the best for the future,” Clubs Queensland said in a statement.
