The Vice President and Australian GM of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), Peter West, will retire from the company at the end of the year.
West has had a career spanning nearly 40 years in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector and began his professional life with leadership roles at Lion Dairy & Drinks, Mars Confectionery and Arnott’s, before joining Coca-Cola Amatil in 2018 as managing director of Australian Beverages.
CCEP CEO, Damian Gammell, said West’s contribution to the Australia, Pacific and South-East Asia (APS) region has been transformative.
“His deep understanding of the industry and landscape, along with his ability to drive growth across diverse markets, have made him a respected figure within our business and beyond,” Gammell said.
“He leaves a lasting legacy, not only in business results but in the strength of the leadership team and culture he helped build.”
Gammell also paid tribute to West’s “unwavering commitment to operational excellence.”
“As Peter prepares for his retirement at the end of this year, we thank him for his leadership, vision,” Gammell said.
Reflecting on his career, West said one of his professional highlights was being part of the CCEP expansion and growth throughout APS.
“It is exciting to be handing over the role to Gareth McGeown, who will bring his expertise, high energy and strong acumen to continue our growth journey in the region,” he said.
West will transition leadership to McGeown, the current General Manager of the Philippines, before McGeown officially steps into the role of VP and GM on 1 January 2026.
“I am grateful for the trust placed in me to continue what Peter has started and lead the APS business unit,” McGeown said.
“We have a strong team and platform for growth in APS.
“I am looking forward to working with our colleagues across the region to continue growing with our customers.”
