Wednesday, 22 February is International Margarita Day and as Australians prepare to celebrate the iconic cocktail, Cointreau has unveiled a new bottle design, which will help making Margarita’s easier in bars and at home.

The new bottle keeps the recognisable Cointreau look, but with a lengthened neck, making pouring the spirit easier for mixology professionals and home bartenders alike. The lid has also been updated with an embossed pattern to enhance both form and function, adding extra grip to make opening the cap a breeze.

The bottle is also an ode to Maison Cointreau, the historic home of the spirit, with a small illustration features on the label, alongside images of Cointreau’s key ingredient, oranges, and signature copper foiling.

The Maison is also featured in an engraving on the side of the bottle, adding a unique textural element to the new design.

There is also a QR code on the bottle, which connects consumers to the Original Margarita recipe and many other adaptations of the classic cocktail.

Cointreau said: “By using Cointreau, you add the guarantee of the exceptional richness of over 40 aromas, sweet and bitter orange peels from the world’s finest terroirs, and more than 170 years of know-how, all resulting in a perfectly balanced cocktail.

“A recipe that remains unchanged, Cointreau continues to be a staple for drinks lovers around the world and is featured in over 350 classic cocktails.”
