Industry stalwart Col Goldstein of Goldstein Eswood passed away earlier this month after more than 70 years in the food services industry. He was 87.

Goldstein Eswood was born out of the amalgamation of J Goldstein & Co (established 1911) and Eswood Australia (established 1932) and, under Goldstein’s stewardship, became one of Australia’s premier food service equipment manufacturers.

The company designs and builds the Goldstein cooking equipment and Eswood dishwashers – specifically to suit Australian conditions.

Col Goldstein was also a founder director of the National Association of Food Equipment Suppliers.

Goldstein Eswood managing director Andrew Davidson said Col Goldstein had taken an active interest in the business despite his advanced age.

“He was working right to the end and would call me to discuss business at least two or three times per week,” he said.
