Coopers Brewery had reason to raise a glass this week, following news that the Coopers Alehouse at Sydney Airport’s T2 domestic terminal was named the International Airport Bar of the Year at the 2014 World FAB Awards.

Held in Copenhagen, the FAB Awards are the only airport-specific food and beverage awards taking place at an international level, with this year’s awards attracting a record 200 entries from around the globe.

Coopers marketing director, Cam Pearce, said receiving international recognition for the Sydney Airport Coopers Alehouse was a vote of confidence in the bar concept.

“We opened the Sydney Airport Coopers Alehouse in August last year following the success of the Coopers Alehouse we have been operating at the Adelaide Airport since 2005,” he said.

“We thought the concept would appeal in Sydney and it is indeed pleasing to see that it has been considered world standard.”

The Sydney Coopers Alehouse, which exclusively offers Coopers products, is operated by Emirates Leisure Retail Australia, who also own Hudsons Coffee and various other bars and cafes at major Australian airports.
