Coopers has been named South Australian Business of the Year and Best Medium Business at the 2008 Telstra Business Awards.

The awards recognise the family-owned company’s environmental achievements, charitable endeavours and innovation in brewing.

“The judges said our hard work, customer focus and innovative thinking were the key reasons behind our win, which is a wonderful reflection on our talented staff,” said Cooper’s managing director, Tim Cooper.

Coopers will now go on to compete at the national Telstra Business of the Year Award, held in Sydney in October.

Coopers is Australia’s third largest brewer and holds 3.3 per cent of the national beer market. It produces 60 million litres of beer annually and has more than doubled its capacity since opening a $40 million Regency Park brewery in 2001.
