Cowra in NSW will host the inaugural Cowra Regional Wine Awards over the Mother’s Day weekend.

Taking place on Saturday and Sunday (Apr 9 & 10), the awards will include vertical and barrel tastings at many of Cowra and Canowindra’s cellar doors, food matching experiences, exhibitors tasting sessions and A five-course degustation dinner prepared by hatted restaurant Neila staged at The Mill.

“There is an eclectic range of fantastic wines in the region,” said Cowra Regional Vineyards Association president, Tom Ward.

“The quality of Cowra’s wines has been steadily increasing over the past few vintages, with a number of wineries receiving national and international wine show recognition, not to mention some great results in the NSW Wine Awards.

“The Cowra Regional Wine Awards Weekend is a way of introducing these winemakers, in a very welcoming and relaxed environment, to customers that may not necessarily know a lot about Cowra,” he said.

Tickets for the award night and dinner are available for $85 per head from Cowra Tourism.
