Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) chief marketing officer Andy Gibson has resigned to take up a role in London as the chief marketing officer and president of Bacardi Global Brands.

CUB CEO Ari Mervis said Gibson has had a great impact on the business since his arrival 15 months ago, driving a complete brand and marketing review.

"No doubt, the standout result has been the turnaround of our largest brand, Victoria Bitter, from ten years of decline," he said.

"While it is a loss for us at Carlton & United Breweries, it is a great opportunity for Andy. It has long been an aspiration of his to head up the marketing function for a global alcohol company," he said.

Gibson will finish up in April and an announcement regarding his replacement will be made in the coming months.

  1. Big loss for CUB, Andy is a hugely impressive individual. It’s no surprise he has been approached to head up an international marketing role.
