D’Arenberg is celebrating the 2014 vintage release of its flagship wine The Dead Arm Shiraz, by hosting a ‘Meet the Maker’ online tasting.

Having been first released in 1993, The Dead Arm Shiraz has gone on to earn an ‘Outstanding’ classification from Langton’s and also claims to be one of Australia’s most collected wines.

The idea for the online tasting came about with Osborn wanting to talk with people from around the world about the wines and about d’Arenberg’s winemaking techniques.

“I’ve travelled all over the world, meeting people, tasting, and sharing the stories behind the quirky names of our wines,” said Osborn.

“But the world is a big place, and I can’t have a drink with everyone. This is a chance to hear about the art of winemaking, the d'Arenberg way, from the comfort of your own home, hopefully with a glass of wine in hand.”

The tasting will take place at 7pm ACST on Thursday 29 June, with Osborn broadcasting via the d’Arenberg Facebook page, while talking through the three 2014 Icon wine releases.

Osborn said that he will discuss the 2014 vintage in McLaren Vale, offer insight into d'Arenberg’s age-old winemaking techniques, and present the 2014 Icon wines, using the hashtag #mytasting.

Details of the tasting and the wines are available from the d’Arenberg website.
