De Bortoli has launched the 2020 Organic Shiraz Field Blend, the company’s first organic wine, highlighting its commitment to sustainable winemaking.

De Bortoli is ultimately aiming to be a ‘Zero Waste Wine Company’ and its journey to that goal is shown through the Organic Shiraz, which is packaged in lightweight recycles bottles and is also vegan friendly.

The winemaker said: “With a vision for a future where great wine and a healthy environment can be enjoyed by everyone, De Bortoli has released its first Organic Shiraz. Handcrafted from the Hemley vineyard in Riverina, which has met the Australian Certified Organic standards, each grape that was picked to make the 2020 De Bortoli Organic Shiraz Field Blend is instrumental for the varietal purity.

“Organic farming accentuates flavour in other natural produce such as fruits and vegetables, and it is the same for wine too. Wines made from organically grown grapes have more intense and evocative flavours.”

The wine is described as being, “bright crimson red appearance with equally enticing fragrant aromas of red fruits and white pepper. The palate exudes rich red fruits and blackberry notes. Full and generous structure, refined tannins and a lengthy finish.”

The wine is available now through your De Bortoli representative and carries a $17.50 RRP.
