You may have noticed the noise on  social media in the last few days regarding the Dead Rabbit Australian pop-up that has been announced for Black Pearl, The Gresham, and Baxter Inn. You might have also tried to buy a ticket.

And failed.

According to co-organiser Griffin Blumer of Poor Toms Gin (pictured left), even he was taken aback at how quickly the tickets flew out the door.

“My co-organiser Andrew was quick to get the word out last night – and the ensuing social media storm has meant the tickets have sold-out. I missed out on buying them myself.”

In case you missed the details: New York City’s Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog is coming to Australia for three collaborative events with the aforementioned bars.

Those lucky enough to jag a ticket will be treated to: arrival drinks and the signature Scotch Egg using a recipe from The Dead Rabbit Kitchen Manual.

There is also a “collaborative menu” that further drinks can be bought from during the evening.

The Dead Rabbit Australian pop-up is the latest in a series of international bar collaborations to hit out shores – this one organised after Andrew Fitzgerald, co-owner of whisky brand Melbourne Moonshine (pictured right), spent a night on the cocktails at Dead Rabbit and suggested to Jessica Friedman that she should bring some of her team to Australia on tour.

He then sobered up (apparently) and roped in Blumer and together they are flying in two Dead Rabbit bartenders, Friedman and Greg Buda, for a 10-day whirlwind tour of the East Coast bar scene.

Each pop up event will be unique, with the Dead Rabbit bartenders collaborating with each individual bar team to present a new menu for one night only. There will be six to eight drinks on each and, as one would expect, Poor Toms Gin and Melbourne Moonshine will be a feature.

If you snagged a ticket, this is where you need to be:

Black Pearl, April 18, 6pm–12pm

The Gresham, April 19, 7pm–11pm

The Baxter Inn, April 23, 4pm–10pm
