Diageo Australia has appointed a new Commercial Director; Andrew Clarke will take over from Simon Tamke, who resigned last year.

Clarke has more than 25 years’ experience of working in FMCG companies and will join Diageo in February.

Diageo Australia’s Managing Director, David Smith said he believes Clarke is a strong fit for the company.

“Andrew is a big hitting commercial director who delivers results,” Smith said. “He loves brands, people and customers and he’s going to be a great fit for the Diageo Australia business.”

Having started his career in the UK, Clarke moved to Australia in 2000 and from 2003 to 2005 he was the Sales Director with Arnott’s Biscuits. He followed this with a stint at Mars as Sales Director, then Regional President of Mars Australia before spending two years in the US as the Global President of Mars’ drinks business.

Clarke moved back to Australia in 2014, joining Ingham Enterprises initially as Chief Operating Officer, before moving into the Chief Executive position.
