Champagne house Dom Pérignon will launch its most prestigious event in Australia to date — Dom Pérignon Week 2008.

The Sydney-based event will run through to Sunday July 27and see five exclusive Dom Pérignon ‘luxury happenings’.

“Dom Pérignon Week is a vision of pure luxury and for seven days,” said Dom Pérignon Australia CEO, Robert Remnant.
“Sydney will become the ultimate destination to experience the full grandeur of Dom Pérignon, including some of our rarest vintages reserved in the cellars of the Abbey of Hautvillers in Epernay, France.”

The event begins with the launch of the Dom Pérignon Boutique & Tasting Bar in the David Jones Market Street store. A Dom Pérignon Boutique is being created in the store and will showcase the most exclusive collection of Champagne ever seen in Australia, while a gallery of Karl Lagerfeld’s photography of Claudia Schiffer will animate the venue.

On Tuesday July 22, Australian designer Marc Newson will host his Season II Launch, at ‘ivy’. Newson has designed a smaller, brushed aluminium version of the neon-green ice bucket launched in 2006, which holds a single bottle of Dom Pérignon.

A bespoke Dom Pérignon Ephemeral Suite will be launched at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth with an intimate gathering for a select number of Sydney’s most glamorous women, where the $80,000 Dom Pérignon Vintage Rosé 1996 Methuselah will be unveiled on Wednesday. Dom Pérignon will also be available by the flute at the Sofitel Lounge, along with a specially devised Dom Pérignon Rosé Menu in the Garden Court.

The newly released Dom Pérignon 2000 will flow at the 7 Sensualities Dinner, hosted at Christine Manfield’s Universal Restaurant on Thursday July 24. A limited number of tickets for this experience can be purchased at $1,100 per person.

At Hemmesphere, Dom Pérignon Rosé animation is planned each night of Dom Pérignon Week and the Karl Lagerfeld designed Fender Guitar will be on show on Friday. Dom Pérignon Rosé Indulgence packages will be available from the Establishment Hotel, which includes a Dom Pérignon degustation at Est.
