The Eastwood Hotel is the number one gaming venue by net revenue in NSW having ended the long reign of El Cortez Hotel in Canley Heights.

Both venues are operated by the NLG Hotel Group.

The NSW Top 200 gaming rankings are put together independently every quarter by the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR) and the latest figures are for the three months to December 31, 2010.

This is the first time the Eastwood Hotel has topped the table since an independent list was first compiled in 2006, edging out perennial top-ten venue Oasis on Beamish and consigning El Cortez Hotel, number one since mid-2009, to third.

Meridian in Hurstville, another historically strong gaming pub, was fourth and the Cambridge Tavern in Fairfield fifth.

The Hurstville Ritz Hotel jumped from 16 in the rankings to sixth, with the Campsie Hotel, Three Swallows Hotel in Bankstown, Markets Hotel in Flemington and Pritchard’s Hotel in Mount Pritchard rounding out the top ten.

The table-topping Eastwood Hotel was last year highly commended in the 2010 ‘Best Gaming Venue’ category at the Australian Liquor Industry Awards (ALIA).

“NLG are very proud of the team at Eastwood for achieving the top place in the state, this is a testament to the consistent commitment to great standards in building a quality customer base,” NLG CEO Dan Brady told TheShout.

Another NLG property, the Cabramatta Hotel was ranked 14th, down from tenth on the September 2010 list.
