Tonight’s (May 31) meeting of the Sydney Rum Club will focus on El Dorado Rum, a brand produced by Demerara Distillers in Guyana, and Brinley Gold Rum from St Kitts.

The event will also mark the end of an era as Wally Pack, owner of Eden bar & restaurant and president of the Sydney Rum Club, is set to return to England.

The Sydney Rum Club was formed five years ago by Wally Pack, Nigel Weisbaum and Phil Bayly.

Importer Quittin’ Time distributes both El Dorado and Brinley Gold into Australia.

Members of the trade and other rum enthusiasts are invited to attend tonight’s event at Eden, Upper Concourse Level, MLC Centre, 19 Martin Place, a bar that boasts close to 50 rums from across the Caribbean and Central America, from 6pm.

Rum enthusiasts will need to pay an entrance fee of $10 to join the Sydney Rum Club.
