Fleur de Miraval has announced the release of the newest wine in its Exclusive Rosé series, ER3, with Emperor Champagne allocating the 150 bottles available for purchase this year.

Fleur de Miraval is co-owned by Brad Pitt and two multi-generational winemaking families, Famille Perrin and the Péters family. The rosé Champagne is made from select back vintages of Chardonnay, blended with grand cru Pinot Noir.

Pitt is proud to be releasing the third iteration of the Exclusive Rosé series.

“For me, Champagne conjures up feelings of celebration, quality, prestige and luxury. I wanted us to try to create the defining brand of rosé Champagne, focusing all our efforts on just this one colour. The result is spectacular and I’m very proud of it,” he said.

Emperor Champagne has offered Australian Champagne lovers a chance to secure a bottle of ER3’s extremely limited allocation through online registration in a first-registered, first-allocated basis. Successful customers will also become a friend of Fleur De Miraval and will be automatically allocated access to future release bottles.

Emperor Champagne is the only distributor with access to ER3, and founder and owner Kyla Kirkpatrick is enthusiastic about the partnership.

“We are thrilled to partner with the exceptional Fleur de Miraval Maison, and are truly excited to bring this highly sought after, special release to the Australian market. The strategy for release of this highly limited cuvee is rare and only something that Emperor Champagne could execute, we are specialists in our field with a state of the art, climate-controlled warehouse that we own, and our entire team are Champagne experts,” Kirkpatrick said.

ER3 is created from a base of the 2018 vintage, with 25 per cent young Pinot Noir from small parcels in the terroir of Vertus. Tasting notes describe “a bouquet of white flowers, redcurrant, and wild strawberry, followed by slight smoky notes. It offers freshness and vibrancy, with length on the palate”.

Fleur de Miraval co-owner Charles Perrin spoke to the wine’s quality.

“Fleur de Miraval Rosé is the culmination of five years of work, research and tasting done in the utmost secrecy. The ER3 is the essence of balance and delicacy, combining the intensity of the grand crus of the Côte des Blancs and the complexity of its perpetual reserve with immense finesse. We are excited for Australians to experience this incredible product for themselves,” Perrin said.

Once the allocation of 150 bottles have been exhausted, ER3 will only be available at Australia’s three Friends of Fleur de Miraval venues; Icebergs in Sydney, the Stokehouse in Melbourne and the Calile Hotel complex in Brisbane.

Registrations opened on 8 November and allocations will be announced on 8 December at 12pm. The allocation release will retail for $699 AUD, and the hospitality release via select partner venues will be $1,299 AUD.
