European buyers at ProWein 2013 showed strong interest in the 2010 Westend 3 Bridges Durif as it provided a distinct point of difference to other Australian producers, the Riverina winery says.

According to Westend Estate Wines sales and marketing manager, Andrew Calabria, the interest in Durif was due to the rarity of the wine varietal in Europe and buyers saw this as a unique selling point.

"There have been lots of positive comments coming back from buyers," he told TheShout.

"It has been a refreshing event for not only Westend Estate, but also for the Australian wine brand in general," he said.

"We'll be back again next year to spread the word about Westend and Wine Australia."
