Foster’s Group Limited announced today (Jan 29) the appointment of John Pollaers to the role of managing director, Carlton and United Breweries (CUB).

Pollaers will report to Foster’s CEO, Ian Johnston, and will commence the role on April 7.

“I am excited to welcome someone of John’s calibre to the executive leadership team,” Johnston said. “John is well known and respected in the Australian market and has a proven track record in successfully leading and growing businesses across multiple countries, channels and brands.”

Pollaers has extensive experience in the alcohol beverages industry, with his most recent role as president, Asia Pacific with Diageo, based in Singapore and working across 17 regional markets.

Pollaers was also a member of the Diageo Global Executive Committee.

The appointment comes after previous CUB managing director, Alex Stevens, resigned due to ill health on December 22.
