The team at Brown Brothers has welcomed the first fourth generation Brown family member into the winemaking team for the coming vintage.

Exchanging her Melbourne lifestyle and role in Brown Brothers marketing team, for the rolling hills of North East Victoria and work boots, Katherine Brown will take on the role of assistant winemaker for the 2015 harvest period.

After close to a decade of working in sales and marketing based roles, in and out of the family business, Katherine completed her Masters of Oenology and Viticulture from Charles Sturt University at the end of 2013; and is now ready to take on the challenge of the winery.

Gaining cellar experience during her study, she has worked vintages in Champagne, Bordeaux and most recently the French region of the Jura, which has fuelled to her passion to peruse the family legacy in winemaking.

With a warm harvest period predicted and optimal growing conditions in early 2015, Katherine will begin her new role on January 19 in preparation for a prosperous vintage.
