Ferngrove Wine Group will cease its distribution agreement with red+white in Western Australia and take over its own distribution, effective from today (Feb 1).

red+white will still be responsible for the distribution of the Ferngrove portfolio on the east coast.

Ferngrove Wine Group managing director, Anthony Wilkes, said the agreement was successful for both companies and thanked red+white for their hard work in Western Australia during the last five years.

“Our vision is to be a leader in Western Australian wines and this new distribution arrangement brings us closer to realising this vision,” he said.

“We can now spend more resources promoting the regionality of Western Australian wine in our home market as we believe the ‘WA style’ is unique and compelling, and consumer trends are now heading for wine styles such as aromatic whites and flavoursome, elegant reds.

"We also believe having our own sales force in WA enables us to better support the independent trade and state group promotional activities as well as to provide improved customer service to our retail and on-premise customers,” Wilkes added.
