Fever-Tree is responding to the growing consumer trend for healthier and better for you products by launching a light version of its popular Mediterranean Tonic.

The Refreshingly Light Mediterranean Tonic has 50 per cent fewer calories than the original and with ‘no artificial anything’. The launch comes after Fever-Tree’s Refreshingly Light Indian tonic became the brand’s fastest-growing tonic segment in Australia in 2020.

Fever-Tree’s General Manager Australia, Andy Gaunt, told The Shout: “Refreshingly Light Mediterranean Tonic launches in Australia as Fever-Tree’s response to a growing desire among Aussie drinkers for lighter, healthier options, as well as the popularity of the delicate, floral style of our Mediterranean Tonic.

“While all our products have seen strong growth over the last year, the Fever-Tree Refreshingly Light Indian tonic was our fastest-growing tonic segment in Australia in 2020, mirroring the broader category trend, and Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic is now the number one premium tonic variant in Australian retail.

“It makes sense to offer a lower calorie option of our bestselling Mediterranean Tonic water to consumers seeking both an alternative flavour profiles to Indian tonics and lighter, healthier choices.

“Our Refreshingly Light range reflects the same commitment to the highest quality ingredients, botanicals and taste that is at the heart of all of our products.

“We are delighted to be extending our selection of low-calorie variants of much-loved Fever-Tree flavours with premium, superior tasting tonic water free from artificial sweeteners that don’t compromise on quality or taste.”

Rather than using sugar replacements the Refreshingly Light Mediterranean Tonic uses a small amount of natural fruit sugar along with rosemary and lemon-thyme from the shores of Provence, to create a light, floral tonic.

Fever-Tree Refreshingly Light Mediterranean Tonic is available in a 500mL format from Woolworths now, RRP $4.00.
